Sister of Mass Murderer Dylann Roof Arrested for Carrying Weapons in School
Please enter comments on this post by signing in to our guest book.
Morgan Roof, sister of mass murderer and white supremacist Dylann Roof, who killed nine members of a Charleston, S.C. church in 2015, was arrested for allegedly bringing weapons to school on the 1-month anniversary of the Parkland High School shooting.
Roof, on the day thousands of students walked out of school to protest gun violence and chanted “Enough is enough,” was charged with two counts of carrying weapons on school property as well as possession of marijuana. She was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Columbia and transferred to the Richland County Detention Center, where she was given a $5,000 bond. Roof allegedly had a knife, pepper spray and marijuana when she was arrested.
Students tipped off police because of a post Roof made on Snapchat, which said she hoped the walkouts were “a trap and y’all get shot,” as well as “we know it’s fixing to be nothing but black people walkin out anyway.” Roof, an 18-year-old student at A.C. Flora High School, is not allowed to return to school, according to WLTX.
Principal Susan Childs said, “The posting was not a threat, but was extremely inappropriate. That student was dealt with in a swift and severe manner as the posting caused quite a disruption.”
Morgan Roof’s brother, Dylann Roof, is awaiting execution in Indiana after being sentenced to death for the nine murders he committed in 2015.
